Sustainability Alliance of Southwest Colorado (SASCO) is an
organization committed to incorporating the concept of
sustainability into all the workings of the local communities of
Southwest Colorado. To do this, we need the involvement of
everyone in our community.

The Sustainability Alliance traces its
roots to the 2002 La Plata County Community Summit and the 2003
Sustainable Economic Development Study Circle. A breakout group at the
2004 Community Summit addressed the idea of a "sustainability policy
council." To follow the development of the organization since then, see
our Meeting Minutes. The
founding Board of Directors
was nominated on December 12, 2005. They formally adopted Bylaws on February 9, 2006.
